– Work with neighbors to gather people for a dialogue about peace and unity – Involve local business associations and houses of faith in your plans
– Help with a youth or service activity
– Engage the community relations officer of your Police District
– Get young people involved in Peace Day through the Chalk4Peace – Plant a Peace Pole
CITIES FOR PEACE
Communities in cities around the world are getting involved in Peace Day, with observances that can last a full week. Chicago was the first world city to observe Peace Day in 1979. More and more Peace Day observances are involving schools and governments, and nore and more cities are engaging in Peace Day through NGOs such as International Cities of Peace.
